Civil Rights Paper Sculpture

I was asked to work with year 7 pupils at Humphrey Perkins High School as part of their CIVIL RIGHTS DAY. We discussed ideas and feelings about imprisonment and freedom. Using pastels and paper this short but exciting workshop produced some effective 3D posters illustrating the results of our discussion.

It is always fantastic when community arts methods are brought into the context of themes and issues in this way. Art and creativity are channels through which we can all express a voice, regardless of ability, age or even language.
