Arty Party on Sunday

Did you know that Rawlins now does children's birthday parties? You can choose from a Sporty or Arty Party for around £75 without catering or £10 a head with catering. These parties are tailor made for your son or daughter and there is no minimum or maximum age. On Sunday I did a party for a 7 year old who wanted a flying theme. We made birds, butterflies and aeroplanes. Contact Rawlins community department on 01509 622827 for a chat about your ideas!

Picasso Evening at 'Be the Artist' after school club

'Be the Artist' is a series of art workshops which allow children and young people to find out more about key artists and step into their shoes through diverse art experiments and techniques. On Thursday we studied Picasso and found out some very interesting facts about him and his work. The participants painted tiles with strong Picasso-esq imagery as well as playing with cubism on masks.

Sileby Graffiti Project -be involved!

I have been planning a great project with Sileby Parish Council and we are ready to announce the details! On Sileby Memorial Park, for those of you who visit, we have a building next to the children's play area which isn't very pretty to say the least. Successful and talented graffiti artist Richard Cook has accepted the challenge of repainting the building with the help of a group of local teens. We are hoping to coincide this event with the Sileby Gala which is taking place on 16th June. If you are interested in being part of the core team who will decide on the imagery and learn spray painting techniques, email me on hayleyfern@rawlinscollege.org.uk
