HeArt of Sileby project underway!

Children at Redlands were the first to make HeArts for the Sileby festival in September. They did so well, stuffing and decorating them as well as adding rosemary to make them smell amazing! Theses hearts and many more will be on sale at St Mary's Church, Sileby, on Sept. 10th and 11th 2011. Come along for a great weekend!

If you are interested in making a heart, either by yourself or in a group, please contact Hayley at hayleyfern@rawlinscollege.org.uk for an instruction pack and template.

'People at Work' - year 6 at St Paul's

Starting with a giant origami shirt, the art group created 'working people' using cut out paper and glue. These made for an impressive display in their themed classroom! Well done everyone for a great Art Week at St Paul's!

Watercolours with year 2 at St Paul's

Weather, mood and time of day were all considered in this watercolour workshop. The children had mostly never tried watercolour painting so enjoyed experimenting with blending colours and silhouettes.

Silk painting exhibition for after school club

Take a look at these beautiful creations, made by children aged from just 6 to 12 at my textiles after school club at Rawlins. We meet on a Thursday from between 4 and 5pm and are always happy to meet new friends! After the summer we will be doing courses in Photography and Photo Crafts where children can learn the art and skill of photography as well as creating amazing pieces of art from their photos, plus there will be a wire modelling and jewellery course too. See Rawlins website or here for details!
