India and Bulgaria banners
For our International Voices concert at De Montfort Hall at the beginning of February, I am working with some groups to create artwork for the foyer. Here, class 2 (5 and 6 year olds) are making colourful banners, one representing India and one Bulgaria!

Last night's STAFF KIDS ART CLUB
Yesterday I ran a FREE art club for Rawlins staff's children aged from 5 to 12. We had 12 participants (and one mum!) and enjoyed a table-full of squiggly spiders, gargoyle faces and dotty doodling. It was such good fun, I will definitely offer this again!

NEW after school club at Cossington
Key stage 1 children (18 in all!) enjoyed a lovely art club last night on the subject of 'the world'. We took a round frame made of wire and filled it with tissue papers, foils and feathers to create colourful and expressive window hangings which either depicted our vision of the globe or ourselves in the world. The children, aged 6 and 7 absolutely amazed me with their creativity and ability.
The special thing about this club is that we are working towards an art exhibition I am organising at the International Voices event, De Montfort Hall.

BOOKING NOW FOR AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
3D art attacks! Starting NEXT THURSDAY!
Project based after school club allowing children and young people to work on larger scale projects based on some of the ‘Art Attack’ ideas. Each member of the group will be offered a range of choices and can spend as long as they need on any of the projects. They may also tackle as many projects as they wish! All materials and guidance will be provided. The choices will include:
‘Animal head’ set of shelves
Cute cottage
Fake cake
Octopus wall hanger
Egyptian cat door stop
As well as the above, each week we will introduce different techniques and ideas including ‘designing projects’, ‘drawing in 3D’, ‘painting effects’ and ‘constructing from cardboard’.
As ever, the participants will always be listened to and their requests included in the programme! This is suitable for all ages (from 5 and up) and projects will be tailored to the individual.
